Snapchat Ads: Targeting Restrictions & Ad Rejections
Trying to run ads for employment on Snapchat and and they’ve been consistently getting rejected. I ran a campaign a month ago and was told that as long as I targeted the following I would be good:
– All genders
– A city, metro, or state, or a minimum radius of 2.5 mi or 4 km (zip codes are unable to be targeted at this time)
– Ages must be targeted to 13+, 18+, or 21+ depending on policy or legal requirements for the ad type
For the first campaign, I was also able to use HHI and interest targeting. Fast forward to this month, I tried to launch a campaign using nearly identical targeting (only difference was the city being targeted). Ads are rejected, so I reach out to support who tells me that I need to remove HHI targeting. I do this, resubmit, and ads are still rejected. Support then tells me that I now have to remove all interest targeting from the campaign. I wasn’t able to find any information about this in their documentation, so I ask them to point me to it and they respond with the following:
>” The policies that holds these policies are not made public because of some regulations, only the ad review team have full access to the documentation. “I wish I can give you everything that you need, the previous ads that was approved was done base on some circumstances that I am not aware of ”
So Snapchat is basically saying “we have policies, but we can’t let you see the documentation” and also that we have to target every single person if we want to run ads for housing, credit, or employment? Seems kind of ridiculous, has anyone else run into this issue?
