Site vs social—Which is better for my goal?
I’m a newbie in google ads things and a few days ago I’ve completed the basics of google search and shopping ads. I’ve to know about the remaining campaigns as well—no doubt in that.
I would like to get hired asap by the companies for a google ads specialists entry level role. Or if I got lucky, I could show off my basic google ads skills to some NGOs or small Biz owners to get some experience without asking them for money and by being transparent (which seems unlikely for me now).
But to showcase my skills in both the hard and soft areas to people, I got two options: Socials or Website.
Both of them will have one goal: I will post whatever I learn in the best way possible to either land a job or a client or two.
The thing is I can’t decide the best to choose from even after reading a few Reddit posts that discuss the same topic.
Here are my points I’ve thought about:
Website is professional and credible and gives me an advantage to learn and implement Google Ads, GA4, MS clarity, and GTM in my own site itself. But I surely won’t run campaigns by spending money as I’m already broke.
Social media is free but algorithmic, and very common among other candidates. Plus I won’t have the advantage of running google ads and other related experiences with this.
Both the platforms will be having the same content (sharing what I learn on a consistent basis).
However, both the platforms will surely be used in the future as my ultimate goal is to be a solo google ads marketing freelancer.
And I haven’t considered running and having the website and social at the same time this early (because I don’t know its potential benefits).
To be honest, I don’t even know the main goals I should focus on any of these two platforms to pick one from to get a job asap.
I need your help guys!
