I've run my automotive news/blog/review website for 13 years now, but since August 2023, they've dropped off a cliff.

    2022 – 130k hits a year

    2023 – 140k hits a year

    2024 – 18k hits a year

    2025 – 10k hits a year

Website isn't spammy, lots of original content that's built up over the years. Had a fair few first rankings for product reviews and the like. But it's just getting worse…

It's on a .com domain, but I also have the .co.uk (it's a UK site). Is it worth ditching the .com and moving to the .co.uk. Would that make any difference?

It’s been over two years. This won’t change back now.

Do you know how or why it dropped off?

    ————- META————-

The 1990s: This is awesome data

    2025: What’s a hit?

Depends on whats causing it. If its backlinks and you 301 – then maybe/maybe not

If it loss of impressions due to the market, yes

    Are you adding more content?

Guessing out loud but do you create the content? Do you understand keywords? Topical Authority?

The reason I ask – is – why aren’t you looking at the site through the lens of pages, keywords and ranking?

I would never look/care about hits or impressions or total clicks

I care about clicks by keyword group

Are you an Ad Sense site?
