  • Similar pages with price lists of different devices

Hi, I have an electronics repair shop that does phone, tablet, computer repairs. The main business is repairing iPhones as that is what is most popular.

I currently have a website, where you can go and get the price of the repair, think of it like a detailed price list for each repair of each device.

The flow of the website is basically this:

Main page -> “start a repair” -> Select the type of device (phone, tablet, computer, etc…) -> select the manufacturer (Apple, Samsung, etc…) -> Select Device (iPhone X, iPhone 11, etc… -> Select problem (Screen repair), and once that is selected, you get information on the time it takes, the cost, how to take an appointment and all the other details.

As you can see, this makes for many very similar pages with the difference mostly being the title of page as well as the h1 and possibly h2. The rest of the content will be very similar and has practically no text as most of it as just the images with one word saying what the image is (Apple logo, and Apple written underneath).

    Here are my questions:

    1. Is it a good idea to have multiple different pages with very similar content like this, or would I be better off making some kind of javascript widget that makes the user stay on one page so Google doesn’t see so much duplicate content.
    2. How can I improve the SEO of those kind of pages that do not have much text, only by modifying the specific page (i.e. just ideas related to modifying the content of the page, the html, not with backlinks for example). Should I add a paragraph at the top with a little summary or some possibly useful information about that specific device. For example, on the iPhone X, having a little summary of the features of the device.

Thank you very much and have a nice day !

you’re looking at this sort of backwards, instead of saying heres my web architetcture, should i do it like this or like that, look at what relevant keywords have traffic, and try to rank for those searches.

it is not a good idea to put a bunch of thin content that you don’t think would be the best result for someone searching for that term (which generally thin content isn’t). If you look at “content pruning” you’ll understand that these kinds of pages weigh down the rest of your website so your options are consolidate them into a page that ranks, or de-index them using your sitemap.

Multiple pages only if its benefits the user. If you go by javascript, you may need to bring traffic from other standalone pages by doing proper keyword search to find the right terms.

You can create relevancy between articles. Example, in iphonex page, you can talk about the particular model its features, designs, list of problems in iphonex, how to solve, how to take care..things like that.

With device Apple page, you can talk about apple, different types of iphone models, flagship etc..

Do a quick keyword brainstorming you can find lot of resources to talk in various pages relevant to it. Use answerthepublic, peoplealsoask, semrush or ahrefs to find keywords and q/a.
