Should I start a new account for my business?
Posted by on August 18, 2025 at 10:09 pmI have had a Instagram account for my business for 2 years I’ve ONLY uploaded once and it was just a pic of my logo. I’m a start posting/ making content for the business. Should I just make a new account? Or just use that one? I only have like 20 followers.

If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it.
That is to say, if there is nothing physically wrong with your existing account, then there is no need to create a new account. Especially if the existing account has the right handle for your business.

If time and energy allow, you can try to operate the original account and the new account together.

There won’t be a difference if you start a new account. You have nothing going on on your current account plus it has history with instagram whether you used it or not just start posting on it

Why would you want to start over/ create a new account? If you don’t really have a reason, then I wouldn’t worry about doing it. Personally, I would keep my original account and start posting there. Good luck! 🙂

If you already have that handle saved, I’d just keep using it. The follower count doesn’t really matter when you’re starting to post consistently. What helps is getting your content in front of more eyes, and tools like smmfollows can make that first push a little easier while you focus on creating.

Don’t restart. Just use the old one. 20 followers is nothing but at least it’s aged and has some history. Wiping and starting fresh won’t change anything. Focus on content, consistency, and engaging. The algo cares more about what you do now than your past inactivity
