Shopify is mis-attributing sales in Google Analytics, check your Referral channel for shop.app
Posted by on September 10, 2020 at 5:25 pmHello, I noticed recently a drop in some channels (email,organic etc) and an increase in referral channel.
I found that since 9/1/20 “[shop.app](https://shop.app)” has shown up. This is part of Shopify’s app and seems to be related to users that have accounts.

Check your data if you use Shopify and GA to avoid mis-attribution.

One can cross reference the transactions attributed to [Shop.app](https://Shop.app) in User Explorer to see where the sales actually came from, just to prove it’s not the new Shop app actually giving you new sales.

Hmm, could this affect Facebook attribution too?
