Slaughterhouse might be an understatement, actually, and this might be one of the most brutal stretches of volatility in Google's history. I'm a service provider in NYC and page results that have been stable for years are suddenly all over the place and on a seemingly minute to minute basis. Providers that ranked #1 for a keyword are now on page 2. Providers that ranked #25 for a keyword are on page 1. Three minutes later it's a completely different set of results. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but like, holy hell.

I feel like google initiated a core update in December and it's just been one long, never-ending core update that just won't stop – I feel like I'm trying to build a house in the middle of an earthquake.

Sorry for the rant. If anyone else is going through this, you've my sympathies.

Feel like they are using the YouTube algo on serp or something, it dances like crazy. Rank 1st, then just disappear from serp in the next refresh

Yes 100% 1st page rankings clients had owned for a solid year plus just vanished to page 3-4. Hardest part is explaining this to the client that google is just drunk and will sober up in a few months.

Would love to see what you’re seeing – I’ve never seen a Google udpates impact in a GSC screen

For everyone losing position, somebody else is gaining position and thinks the new algorithm is working.
