Each case is different, but I dealt with something I’d never seen in my four years working with SEO: I had a website drop from 1st to 15th place literally overnight, in a niche where I don’t have much competition.

One of the websites where we are the 3rd largest company in the sector and the leading authority in the sector in all of Brazil lost 40% of its traffic from Monday to Tuesday.

Updating some pages worked and helped recover some of the traffic, but not all of them recovered.

This actually made me a lot less worried, that others were experiencing this.

For us it kicked of last Wednesday; our website drop from first to eleventh, multiple kws just straight up evaporated from the ranking. Update shows only a few slowly recovering (as in they are on page 2 according to Semrush).

Strangely, we also jump into top 10 in 3 kws we have not ranked before during the last year.

Planning to continue to monitor the situation + testing cuz no idea what could cause such drastic changes. For me, often when the ranking fall, most ranking fall. Nothing has ever popped back in so fast.
