Scaling FB ads – tf did I do wrong?!

    Hi guys,

In a nutshell, I run a brand that sells accessories for tennis (grips etc.).

I use FB ads, and recently launched an ABO campaign to test various ad sets. Tesing 3 ad sets, each on £20/day. 2 were performing well after 10 days so I set about trying to scale them.

After doing some research on different techniques I was fairly stumped & didn’t know whether to copy them into a CBO, duplicate them within the same ABO campaign, or just up the budget on the existing adset. Everyone seems to have their own theory on what works!!

To complicate things, I only just discovered about UTM tracking and added this to the orginal ads before trying to scale, putting them back in the learning stage & wiping their social proof (whoops ffs!).

Last Friday I decided to just duplicate the AdSets into the same ABO and see what would happen. Over the weekend sales were good but not incredible when considering the increase in ad budget. At this point I had 5 ad sets in the ABO campaign, the orignal 3, and the 2 duplicates of the 2 successful ad sets.

I did some more research over the weekend which made me change my mind, and decided to change course. Bearing in mind everything was in learning stage at this point still from all the UTM tweaks. I turned off the new duplicates and decided to up the budget (double it) on the 2 successful oirginal ad sets.

Sales have been crap the last 2 days and I’m losing all faith in my own intelligence. Am I a moron? And what should I do?

I have only been running FB ads since the start of this year, but thought I had slightly more of a grip than this.

How can I get this campaign back on track and save my sanity?

    Thanks!!!

I Think that is due to the new iOS upgrade issue.
I will advise you to try out on Google ads, with this you will get more conversion and sales

If you are making a significant budget or audience change it’s better to duplicate the ads and increase the offer in this way, otherwise you can increase the budget by 20% every few days without any major impact.

When you duplicate an ad set you will never get the exact same results as the original one.

There will be a whole be a while new learning phase on the new ads and this will take time.

To get back to where you were you could pause the new ads, re-activate the old ones and increase the budget slowly on these.

    Hope that helps.

Stop making so many changes every few days would be helpful. Try the old campaign and let it run for more than a few days.
