Hi guys. I used to "do" social media some years ago around 2018 until 2020/2021. This was the peak for my account, in which it grew from nothing to 350k followers.

I have not posted on this account since 2021. I also privated all my videos later that year, and now all that remains are roughly 300k of my followers and 6-7million likes on those privated videos.

However, I'd like to start posting content again. I feel as though it would be silly not to use this account, although I do have some doubts.

I used to post trends and thirst-trappy videos that (as well as being insanely cringe to watch years later) were very easy on the algorithm and pulled in quite a large audience. This audience eventually became predominantly female, and the followers that I have left now are in this same demographic.

Going forward I would like to be posting Counter-Strike and eSports content, as this is something I enjoy as a hobby and have put many hours into. To create content around it would be a fun challenge, but I'd like to be sure that people will even see this content.

I have doubts because I know that once an account don't post for a while, they are effectively "shadow-banned", and their reach is heavily limited. Putting days into crafting a video to see it shadow banned and gain no traction would be insanely annoying, so I want to avoid this.

So, I ask: has anyone revived an account similar to this? Did you revive it on a different niche? Or did you just say fuck it and make a new account to start over? New accounts obviously have greater organic reach and aren't always immediately shadow banned.

    Thanks!

I’m afraid I don’t have experience, but is it possible to do some videos that are relevant but don’t take as long? So you can possibly warm up your account, or see how your account reacts to the new content? If that fails, then start a new account?
