Rebrand… How to keep links?
Posted by on September 9, 2025 at 8:56 pmI am thinking of a re-brand for our Shopify store but don't want to start our SEO journey from scratch.
1) Any ideas, systems, tips, etc. to preserve our current backlinks, DA and work we have put in so far?
2) Any ideas or tips to use this re-brand to our SEO advantage?
Any and all help is appreciated.

Make sure you map out all of your old URLs and seet up 301 redirects to the new ones. Then the authority and backlinks you have built will pass through instead of being lost.
I would also try to keep the same content structure where you can. If Google already understands your site hierarchy, you don’t wanna throw it for a loop with drastic changes all at once.
If you use rebrands to clean up thin pages, improve internal linking, and tighten your keyword targeting, it can be a boost. Plan your migration carefully, test your redirects, and monitor Search Console right after the switch.
