TLDR: What is the better option in terms of ranking impact: no/low clicks or clicks, but a quick navigation away to another website.

Hi folks I am doing maintenance on our small business's website. Sort of thrown into this so I have little SEO knowledge. I have a question about the impact of a traffic decision:

We have two "arms" of our business. One is more one-on-one client based (A) and the other is volume work (B). Each has their own website.

The one-on-one side website (A) is in a much more saturated market and has far less hits. The volume side (B) gets lots of click throughs as clients need to do selection for products through that website. That website doesn't need natural traffic as it is strictly for client selections.

Is it advisable to put a doorway to site B on site A so that the direct links go to site A first? I'm concerned that the fact that they'll be navigating away from the site right away will be a negative. But is that flow of traffic, even if short lived, preferential to no clicks at all?

Really appreciate any useful input, thank you.
