I’m not trying to be negative here, but it took close to $1,500 budget daily before Google cared enough to help us figure out why our ads weren’t consistently producing. At your current price point, you’re not really giving the pixel enough information to know what a good customer/sale looks like.

Taking a guess you’re using automated bidding? If so then this is potentially normal as auto bidding may have bumped back to “learning mode” and it’s very likely to see performance tank during the first week or two while it “relearns” at $400 spent for $50/day, you’re about 7-8days in.

If it’s search campaign honestly running manual bidding and setting bids to avgs they were hitting when you were getting conversions, focusing higher bids on top converting keywords, setting bid adjustments for location, demographics, etc. For op converters. With the way auto bidding has been working manual can work a lot faster in scaling or re-stabalize as no one has time to wait 2 weeks for auto bidding to figure out what it was already doing well before boosting budget.

I am using maximise conversion with a target CPA. I will definitely look into this, thank you!

Budget isn’t high enough to support the CPCs unless you have a crazy high conversion rate. You need more budget.

With 3 to 4 conversions a week, you shouldn’t be using tCPA as the data to work out is small for the algorithm to optimize. Focus on getting at least 25 conversions in last 30 days before switching to tCPA or tROAS

Also, at that budget go for high intent audience (CPC’s might be higher) but so would be the conversion rates.

As for the budget change, look at the quality of audience attracted over the $400 spend, their average page time, number of events, search volume, search terms….

Gambling should be hugely profitable. How are you spending so little? And how are you able to advertise? This is a heavily restricted industry

budget has no relation to conversions. Stop treating it like astrology. its a computer program, there is no guess work. no conversions = bad targetting, bad landing page, bad account structure., etc.
