Question About Duplicate Category Titles
Posted by on May 7, 2020 at 12:11 pmHi folks. My company runs a branded ecomm website where we currently sell only branded products.
In these strange times we are having to get creative like everyone else.
We have a bunch of non-branded items we would like to add on the branded website under a separate shopping navigation with some categories that are named the same as the branded.
Hypothetical example – Apples is already an existing category for all of our branded apples. We now want to add non-branded apples under a separate shopping navigation and call that category apples as well.
What would be the best way to name the new category for the non-branded apples? Is it just a matter of altering the URL handle for that new category, maybe using a similar keyword to Apples that gets good traffic?

Better you put all these products in the same category and add filters by brand.
If your brand has search volume and you have trafic on it, you index that filter.
