Question about advertising to new States

I am new to PPC ads myself and wanted to get some feedback from some of the experts on this subreddit.

I work for an Electric Bike company located in Canada and we are looking for a way to advertise to some of the top Bike states is the U.S. I was curious as to what the best method would be to do this.

For some context currently using Facebook ads we have a campaign targeting Canada with users interested in Electric bikes and it is a video campaign. With the results from the video campaign of users who watched the video 50% and up we are targeting them with a Lead Generation ad. We have also created a looklike audience of users who watched 50%+ of the video and are targeting them as well. Ultimately we will target users who fill the lead (and lookalike users) with purchase campaigns.
Would this be beneficial to replicate into new states with the end goal of generating leads and purchases or is there something else you would recommend we try?

You’ll certainly see higher CPMs if you run ads under a set to specific states as opposed to the whole of Canada.
If I were you:
Take the same advertisements and targeting techniques you use in CA and put those in 4 different ad sets, each set targeting a US different time zone. (PST, MT, CST, EST)
See which time zone does best over the course of 10 days and go from there. Don’t segment it down to specific states because you’re going to narrow yourself out of business.

Out of curiosity how It that strategy working for you?
I’ve always done the original campaign to a purchase campaign and then retargeted the 50% vv audience…
I’ve thought about trying to use a video campaign for cold traffic prospecting but never done it.
Would love to hear your experience.
