Ok guys, I just got a client who's interested in local SEO. He's looking to generate pages for every "keyword + location" , even the most obscure ones. We did the math and that should reach about 12000 pages in total. So the keyword will remain the same but we'll have 12000 locations that we will target.

Now the question is, how would you approach this situation from SEO and an automation side?

From my knowledge Google will derank pages with duplicate content so there has to be a variation added in the title and content of that page.

In order to do that I was thinking to apply (just an example) [ "car turbo repair" in + location + { close to you | professional | cheap | fast service } ]

Same goes for content inside that page. I was thinking to add the main keyword + other variations of those keywords inside a unique text.

And now on the technical part of applying this …

    1. Would you use ChatGPT to write the content? From what I know Google can detect ChatGPT content, but popular opinions on this can vary. My experience so far has been OK with using it so i'm on ChatGpt's side.
    2. Would you use automation tools such as n8n, Make?
    3. When adding a featured photo to that page, should that photo be duplicated and have it's meta data updated to the corresponding "keyword + location " ?

Am I missing out on something? Please do tell.

    Thanks

No to using cgpt it can’t do it. You’ll end up with generic as fuck shit, shit ton of duplication and generally it’ll be like someone on meth, took heroin, did some lines and tried to write it via dictation while wanking doing a 200km hr on a motorbike… I’ve tried.

N8n sure, but there’s better ways with orher mcp, However your issue is going to be tokens and character limits. AI is not going to be able to drive this, like you think, even at enterprise level limits

What youll need is a bunch of scripts, .md, .json, file system..to run, be context, for all the heavy lifting, taking all the fragments from your ai outputs and sticking it together and publishing to perhaps a staging first, get verified because the error rate will be high, then script to push to production … and this is not even touching on version control.

So good news after I shit all over your world domination plan, You can 100% do what your planning, not with those things you memtioned, but you can. I’ve done it, so have others even pre AI.

    ## but

This worked really good like 7-10yrs ago.. now what you’ll likely find is you have a ton of pages that won’t index, because there just shit, and are basically just part of the same semantic tree and google knows it… maybe a penalty for spam but I’ve not got one before.

I’ll let you know there’s a better way to do it and it’s not as spamming, so experiment and keep working on it.

    1. Absolutely do use ChatGPT or another LLM, but do it wisely. Spent enough time writing a prompt that gives specific instructions on the style guide, what content to write, make it iterate itself to fact check stuff. Don’t make it write the whole page, break it into specific sections. Google could probably detect ChatGPT content but it doesn’t care, as long as the content is useful.
    1. Depends on the CMS. If it is a wordpress you can find a suitable plugin to bulk upload those pages as custom taxonomies. Shopify also has similar options. If bulk upload isn’t possible, then yeah, use n8n to make your life easier.
    1. Ideally, generate an unique image for every page. If not possible, use some variations + custom file name and alt name. Not sure if meta data matters that much, but it won’t hurt to make it page specific too.
    1. [Bonus] Add additional unique info on each page. Could be an embedded Google Maps of the location.

That said I am still not sure if this is a really great idea, but it is worth testing it for the niche.

I should say this is a textbook example of “Doorway Pages” and the website may get penalized by Google for Thin Content. But in my experience, if it isn’t an YMYL niche, you mostly risk not getting those pages indexed and losing your time.
