Performance Max Campaigns – Anyone Using?
Posted by on August 12, 2021 at 12:51 amOur reps are pushing us to test out Performance Max, but I have some reservations. We are primarily search and very small amount of display/YouTube which we don’t really see results from, as it’s just not ideal for our industry.
Is there any point of trying performance max if you’re really just 95% search?

No, as it would just run on display and youtube.

We’re using it for one lead gen account and a travel company, both with budgets over 300€ daily. Results are insane, ROAS at 35-60 (to be fair conversions are leads worth 70€ and plane ticket worth over 800€ minimum).
BUT :
– you have to supply Google with decent creative work
– it requires a lot of budget, which a lot of clients can’t afford
– you have no way of knowing on what it broadcasted and which channel brought you the best performances, so you have no way of using it to get insightsAlso Google keeps telling us that it doesn’t broadcast on brand request, but since there is no data available on search terms there is no way of being 100% sure of it

Yes. I have only been up and running for a week or so. I figured the media credit promo made it worth giving a shot.
It is doing very well for one of my clients. Comparable to some of my search campaigns. Other client got running later so too early to say.
It’s obviously very much a black box and I would really prefer some more specific details about what it’s doing.

Just started using it. Results were bad until I added some Audience Signals. Still early, but seems legit so far for the right campaign fit.

Yes and there is a shitload of fraud coming in from desktop
