Okay so 53k likes on TikTok but only 750 followers…?What am I doing wrong?

I looked it up on google and the ai found research that on average every 10 likes you should get around 1 follower for basically any niche on TikTok . First off, no I did not buy likes or views or whatever. Second, this is NOT from just one viral video. Im an art tiktoker who has cracked the algorithm(at least I thought I did lol). I am currently averaging 30-40k views/vid with 7-9k likes/vid. People like the art I make, but people won’t follow me for some reason. They save, like, share, comment, and repost, some even post to their stories but they don’t follow. What am I doing wrong? I followed my friend on TikTok and he asked if I bottled my account and that made me feel terrible about all the hard work I’ve put into understanding the algorithm, and I really don’t want that thought to be the norm. Please don’t be mean I’m only looking for advise on what to do differently.

Where the hell did you hear that stat from?
What I know is a good ratio is 1%-3% of your likes.I have 34k total likes across my account (I started making videos 6 weeks ago) and I have 410 followers, and most of the people who know this stuff well say that’s a pretty good ratio for a new account.
I don’t know a single creator that has a 10% like to follower conversation rate. And if they do, it probably doesn’t stay that way if they create consistently

Honestly it’s not about the likes, it how the clue you provide through your content. People swipe through content and liking it without any regards to what’s been shared. Actually this is a good problem to have cuz you now know that the reach is there so work on curating your content better

I don’t get nearly as many views or likes, but more followers. 3 month account likes 15.7k with 3.4k following.
My videos are about me learning a new language.
I have no idea about social media, maby a theory is my single videos aren’t as interesting but some are interested in following the journey?

Meaning. Give ppl meaning. Since the engagement is there, creating a art series might convince ppl who engage to want to follow you to keep up with the series. This isn’t to say stop doing anything you already doing. You just gonna do more by creating a soacific kinda art piece with a continuous story.
