Offered Over $10K for an Instagram Meme Page.

So the other night some one dm’d me and ‘said how much to buy your page?” Because I didn’t really want to sell, I replied $20k (way overpriced for an 11k followed IG meme page). This was supposed to be a joke btw. He then said “13k and we got a deal” For this price I would be more than happy to sell. I then asked if he was being 100% legitimate and was actually wanting to buy. He said he was.
Should I sell or is this too suspicious?
Is there any common scams when selling accounts?
Note: Working in AUD currency, page is very niche/branded and has 11k followers.

That’s a very high valuation. I’d be suspicious but if you can get it into escrow and do the deal and feel it’s fair do it.

This is pretty common but, unless your only accepting CRYPTOCURRENCY (bitcoin, ethereum etc) and he send those to your wallet first no 50/50 but the entire amount to you first in crypto or cash in person it’s no deal, there are ways to chargeback any amount they wish. That’s the only way to secure the sale. Or hire a middleman service from that deal with these transactions but do your DD. You can also have a lawyer step in and setup an escrow.
What people tend to do if they scam is they want you to send the info and email to the account first and change the info and password ASAP and they won’t keep their end of the bargain of sending you your $13k, so you lose your account and the money.
Either that or, someone wants to take that handle and use it for an actual company and brand it that. I had many rare 4 letter and one word IG accounts and sold it for only cryptocurrency and they send the amount first and confirm couple of confirmation in the blockchain then send the info. If your buyers offers you PayPal or bank wire, or check, or western union or anything other then CASH or crypto, they can chargeback period. PM me if you need more guidance about these things.

probably a scam, he’s gonna try to pay with check or paypal or something reversible. unless the IG name is short and valuable on its own.

Common scam, they have no intention of paying you anything. And if they do it’ll be reversed soon as you give the details over. If an offer sounds too good to be true it’s because it is. Your page isn’t worth 10k. Nothing against it but it just isn’t.

That’s very suspicious and I don’t think anyone would buy a Instagram page for that much because you can easily buy like 10K followers for like $250 on a website so this is a scam I wouldn’t do it he’s just gonna hack you if you give them any information
