  • Notice of CLS issues?

Posted by seohelper on May 31, 2020 at 9:25 pm

Yesterday I received an email from Google notifying me of issues with my website; I logged in to see 55 URLs affected with CLS issues.

I have never seen or heard of this before…But the graph shows issues going all the way back to May 6th.

    I’m very confused here…

-Is this something new Google is looking for? Curious why I was just notified of this yesterday and hadn’t seen errors when I logged into Search Console last week.

    -Does it affect SEO?

-How can I quickly fix it?

Yes, it’s new. They just started reporting these statistics 2 days ago. They didn’t tell us when they started keeping track of these issues. And according to the announcement, it will become ranking factor sometime within the next year.

But as for fixing the issues. We’re all floundering in that area.

It’s hard to say how to fix it without knowing your site. I’m also not a Google SEO expert so keep that in mind. Advertisements that load after the page loads and causes a reflow is a common reason. It could also just be images loading later or scripts doing something.
