I’m a beginner, knowing a bit of CSS etc. but for now want the costs low. I’ve got a domain ready to go and have created a template on Wix.com purely to give me an idea on the look – would

As stated, your site is basic and you’re currently using a free wix site. Therefore, your best go to is going to be WordPress. To answer your question, I would recommend using BlueHost WordPress hosting.
