Need to increase traffic on shopify website

I’m interested in getting more US traffic, but I’m not sure exactly how to drive it to the site.
We’re currently working on rebuilding the site using a proper theme and improving graphics and branding, but I’m wondering how to manage with a 20K product store.

For a new website, focus on implementing a strong On-Page SEO strategy and addressing any technical issues. Ensure that you create a sitemap and a robots.txt file, while avoiding keyword cannibalization. There’s no need to rush into building backlinks—start with social media promotion. When you say you are interested in getting more US traffic. Do you mean you are getting CA traffic and are looking to expand? Or you just want more traffic total to the store?

Start with publishing useful guide, articles and user focused content. Then Focus on local citations, Classifieds, and build foundational links. We have followed this strategy to a client in CA and it worked very well. Once again, pre-research is important like keywords, selecting titles, citation links..etc.

with a .ca TLD you’re fighting an uphill battle.

I think that .ca domain can rank in US search results but it’s really difficult. So the first thing that you should look into is perhaps getting a .com or .us

Fast hack to generate US traffic to any website is to use US backlinks. I’d start with listing your website + business info on US niche-business listings sites.
Then write + distribute a 300-500 word press release about how your business serves USA
Then if you want to keep building, circle back and ask again.
