  • Need social media management platform suggestions for a NPO dealing with literacy

We are looking to use/purchase a tool to make posting, scheduling, and engagement automated and easier. We would use this on IG, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

Can anyone suggest what they like and share why? The only thing I’ve ever used is Hootsuite and I can’t say I liked it. We have a team of about 4 that would regularly be going in to use it, pull reports, or monitor it.

The company is a nonprofit that deals with literacy, so we have a great story to tell! Thoughts?

IG is gonna be the tough one because they’re famous for making it difficult to schedule posts. So a tool specializes for Instagram would be your best bet like Planoly.

For other scheduling tools, Buffer would be a great option for the other sites you mentioned. And if you have a WordPress site, Coschedule has been my absolute favorite tool to use to schedule all social posts—especially their Reque (sp?) feature.

I think you’re starting from a flawed place. Before you think about automation, think about your goal, and each channels’ audiences. There are countless profiles throwing shit at walls, chasing vanity metrics and meaningless impressions. That’s really the only thing automation will do for you.

What’s the literacy story your NPO wants to tell? What’s the value you think social will provide to any business objectives? Are you local only, or national?

You need real KPIs for yourself and an editorial strategy that supports it before you think about automation in my opinion.

Not sure of your budget, but Sprout Social covers all of those bases and much more so besides.

Some of these companies offer discounts or even free subs to NPOs. I know Buffer offers 50%. Canva offers their premium features for free. Same for GSuites. All you have to do is submit documentations proving you’re NPO.
