I have a new client who has both a FB page and an Instagram account. Currently the Insta account is linked to the Meta Business profile, the FB page is not. I am an admin of the meta business profile and have the insta login info. I have two problems.

    1. There are 2 people on the FB Page. Person A is the administrator of the page. Person B is an "editor" but not full admin. The Email for Person A no longer exists (was an old work email). The computer that they used when they used that account was struck by lightning and no longer exists. They don't know the password for the account or phone numbers associated with it. I cannot access the account and FB won't help us. This means that I cannot add the FB page to the business profile and I can't add myself as an admin on the FB page.

    2. While instagram is linked to the business profile. I cannot create reels and schedule them in Meta. I constantly get a "we can't do that right now" message. If I DO get through, the reels optioin isn't there or it doesn't post them. I'm imagining that this is a result of Insta and FB not being linked, but I don't know.

What can I do to fix these issues? It's been a huuuuge pain.

    TIA
    AJ

This is a nightmare scenario that happens way too often and Meta’s support is absolutely useless for situations like this.

At my platform we help multi-location brands with this exact problem and unfortunately for issue #1, you’re probably fucked. If the original admin email is gone and they have no backup recovery method, Facebook will not help you get access to that page. I’ve seen clients spend months going in circles with Meta support and get nowhere.

Your best bet is to start fresh with a new Facebook page and redirect followers from the old one if Person B (the editor) can still post. Have them post regularly directing people to follow the new page, then abandon the old one once you’ve moved most of the audience over. It sucks but it’s faster than fighting with Facebook’s broken support system.

For issue #2, this is likely because your Instagram account has some weird permission conflicts even though it shows as connected. Try disconnecting Instagram from the business profile completely, wait 24 hours, then reconnect it. Make sure whoever connects it has full admin rights on both the Instagram account and the business profile.

Also check if the Instagram account was previously connected to the old Facebook page that you can’t access. Sometimes Meta keeps ghost connections that fuck up everything even after you think you’ve unlinked stuff.

If that doesn’t work, try using Instagram’s native scheduling through Creator Studio instead of Meta Business Suite. The integration between platforms is still buggy as hell even when everything looks connected properly.

The whole Meta business ecosystem is a clusterfuck honestly.
