I’d be grateful for any advice from the more experienced and knowledgeable social media managers on here. I’m helping a friend out with the following:

    1. A one-week social media schedule for Twitter – averaging 2 posts per day (with thoughts about other channels)
    2. A short-form content piece around their product (online service).
    3. A plan for social & content across all channels over a 3-month period.

If you could help me break this down/structure it, I’d be incredibly thankful. For example, he wants to be more active on Twitter, should I be developing the content differently than if it was on IG?

Is a content piece about their product just an intro of their services and how they are better than their competitors?

I honestly don’t even know how to break down number 3 🙁 Any help would be amazing.

    Thanks in advanced everyone.

When I’m planning content I sit down with those months Callander infront of me. I search for important dates and mark them in first (example Easter). Then build around them. So if it was November I’d list thanksgiving (post about thanksgiving not sales) and then ensure I’ve got my black Friday/cyber Monday posts.

I try to do half salesy stuff like product showing and half interactive like quotes or making videos.

Mark our launches as well. And then work back the way from that

Im not quite sure how to help to be honest. What do you mean by breaking content calendars down?

You seem to already have a plan regarding frequency but 2 tweets a day ain’t much. The life span of a tweet is way less than let‘s say a YouTube video.

Let’s go back to basics first. Answer me these questions:
    – What are the goals for social media marketing?
    – who is the target audience?
    – is there a budget for ads? Always think Paid/Owned/Earned media.

A lot of times brands post just for the sake of having posted something. Your main focus should be relevance.
