    Need help!

I am running a Search campaign for a local business, I want to track offline conversion for them – Calls and store visits. But the issue is I am unable to get GCLID as most of the calls and conversions are getting generated from Google business profile.

Can someone please explain how am I suppose to track offline conversion and send it back to google?

GBP conversions don’t carry GCLID because they’re direct profile interactions not ad clicks… you need call tracking software like CallRail or Google’s forwarding numbers on your website to capture GCLIDs when people call after clicking ads.

For store visits, Google auto-attributes based on location services but you can’t manually import those… the workaround is tracking calls-from-ads as your offline conversion proxy since most local businesses see 80%+ of store visits start with a phone call first…then use CRM data matching customer phone numbers to closed deals and import those conversions with Enhanced Conversions for Leads using hashed email/phone instead of GCLID.

If the lead comes from the Business Profile, there’s no click so there’s no GCLID to pass back. You either track calls with Google forwarding numbers, or import offline conversions using enhanced conversions data instead of GCLID.

This is a common issue with GBP driven calls. If the conversion doesn’t originate from an ad click, there is no GCLID to send back. You usually have to separate GBP calls from Ads calls and use call tracking numbers or enhanced conversions instead of true offline imports.

GBP calls just don’t pass a GCLID, so they can’t be uploaded as offline conversions. Google already tracks those calls natively through call and location extensions, and that’s what you should optimize toward. Offline uploads only make sense for leads that start on your website where a GCLID exists.
