  • Need Advice to Grow Views on My Instagram Reels 🙏

    Hey everyone,
    I’ve recently been trying to get more consistent with Instagram reels, but I’m struggling to increase my reach. My account is over a year old, but I only have around 4–8 followers and I follow a few accounts back.

    For example, I just uploaded a reel where I’m wearing a black saree (kept it simple with just earrings) and used the song “It’s Time to Disco.” The reel barely got any views, and I’m not sure what I might be missing.

    I’d love to hear your advice on:

    How to optimize reels for better reach (hashtags, timing, captions, etc.)

    Whether engagement strategies (like commenting, collabs, or trends) actually make a difference

    Any growth tips for small accounts like mine

    I’m not aiming to go viral overnight, but I’d really like to grow an audience that enjoys my content. Any feedback or guidance would mean a lot 🙌

    Thanks in advance!

    Take s step back and actually make content other people want to watch.

    If you make good content, people will find you/watch

    I’d start by locking your **niche** and **style**, then build from there.

    **Pick a style (and know the trade-offs):**

    * **Funny/entertaining** → can go viral, but weaker audience connection.
    * **Useful/educational** → best for trust & sales if you’re a pro in that topic.
    * **Blogger/lifestyle** → stronger connection, slower to monetize.

    What I did: I chose **useful content** (software dev + AI tools) and sprinkled **a bit of personal life**. In ~2 months I added **~2,000 IG followers**. My cadence was **2 reels with practical tips** + **1 personal reel** to build connection.

    For each reel:

    * **Punchy headline/first second** (say the payoff up front)
    * Clear **hook + captions**
    * **Readable on-screen text** (big, brief)
    * **Fitting audio**
    * Decent **lighting** and a clean **cover**

    It’s a commitment, but it gets easier once you know your lane. For your black saree reel, I’d test a simple helpful angle like:
    **“Black saree, 3 easy looks (10s)”** — one topic, one promise.

    First 3 seconds is vital. Focus on that part. Rest stuff will fall in place. But yes, try to study what exactly your audience wants. And if a reel performs well, push it with an ad investment.

    Start commenting and interacting with other accounts beyond the few accounts you follow. It’s called “social” media for a reason. Try posting around 2x a week to start seeing real growth. Don’t get too caught up in making every video super perfect. Just get in the habit of posting and interacting with other accounts.

    My advice is to look for or create a viral format, a structure that you can easily replicate. Look at the creators who achieved virality, not followers little by little. It’s usually because they used a format that was different from what had been seen before, and I’m sure you can find one for your niche.
