My website is over 10 years old with only 8,500 backlinks, yet a website in the same niche that is only 2 years old has 1 million backlinks and outranks me
Posted by on August 22, 2021 at 5:34 pmI think I’m giving up I went from getting a lot of traffic on google news 7 years ago to getting almost nothing, they say Content is king, they say do not do back link exchange and just let the backlinks come naturally yet these new sites all have more backlinks than me.
I don’t know how they do it these brand new websites getting massive traffic and many backlinks and only being a year or 2 old, I try to do things the honest way like Google says do not buy links and let your content speak and people will link to you.
yet Im poor and broke now, because my articles never rank, where these new sites with poor content just basically regurgitating stuff not original not even good opinion content.
Im just unlucky, I guess. The worst part is websites will quote me but NEVER link to me with a backlink
I remember this website that had great authority quoted a part of my article and gave me a mention to my website but didn’t link back to my article, instead they linked back to the major or higher authority sites. So a little guy like me stands no freaking chance, back links are king and I have NONE.
Just some stupid spammers backlinking me and a couple authority ones and wiki backlinks 🙁

Maybe do some outreach? backlinks and social media benefit a lot from reaching out and asking. it’s time consuming and may feel desperate but it should give a bit of momentum?

You can rank extremely well with just onpage SEO, I’m not even a seo professional and can rank very well indeed, never give up, if interested let me know yours and he or hers so what to do next

It’s possible they are better at getting visibility, better content, better partnerships etc.
If you are stale, you are irrelevant. Maybe you never updated your strategy, articles nor focus on mobile. Too many unknowns.

Maybe buy a competitor site audit on Fiverr or use ahrefs to reverse engineer what exactly the new site has done?
Im always getting beat to, but i audited the guy that beats me and he basically published his articles to medium then send a million links to medium.
I tried it and it took 30 ish weeks but it worked.
I’m not into that kind of stuff, but i just did it on one article and it got #1 in google (the medium version), which did get some site traffic.

Sorry but, who tf is “they”? The only people that say content is king while simultaneously saying that you shouldn’t build links are clearly lost as to what the platform uses to measure authority. Or, simply put, there is no budget to compete.

You keep mentioning backlinks. You’ve been in there s game a while it seems. You have learned some meaningless things or possibly outdated.
Pay more attention to referring domains rather than overall backlinks
Look at things that rank and are more evergreen and your traffic will hold or increase. Newsworthy material crossword mes and goes quicker everyday.
It seems your competition is using more aggressive techniques that are leaving you behind. That may last or they may get hit with a penalty.

Google’s entire mission is to provide the best, most relevant information to users. So that they can increase the audiences for ad sales.
That includes both information architecture and usability.
A lot of things, especially with the evolution of crawlers have changed in the past 7 years. Have you stayed on top of these changes? Do you update your preexisting content regularly? How’s your mobile experience? How’s your UI? How’s your server speed? How are your title tags? Are your meta description appealing to a searcher?
You might have the best information on the internet, but you’re not getting a quality back link from me unless you have a good enough user experience for me to feel like your link adds value for my audience.
SEO is a non-stop effort.
You can outrank anyone if you put effort in. Your competition is putting in effort and they’re winning—they looked at you, looked at your strengths and weaknesses and beat you. Domain age is also not that strong of a signal to Page Rank.

Do you write like this on your site? Your punctuation is horrible and makes it hard to read. I bet most people read a few lines and bail on your site. That certainly won’t help you get eyeballs more. Check the writing on the new site and compare.

Linking is my thing! Dude I have seen some super savage linking strategies. Ultimately, it boils down to how much you are paying for tools and software. It is also a who you know type of game as well. Unfortunately there a lot of secrets in this industry.

Also if you haven’t seen my post giving away my list of backlinks you should. Getting a high DA is king and can still be manipulated super hard. Anyone telling you otherwise isn’t telling you the truth.
