    Hi,

I made a tiktok for my new business a few months ago. We haven’t launched yet, so the account was just sitting unused. I finally wanted to start building up my tiktok account last week and I posted a video that I spent a lot of time making and it got 5 views. So I deleted it. I then posted another one of a different video and it got 200 views, 0 likes, 1 comment. I did another video a few days later that got 150 views, 0 likes, 0 comments. I posted one more video which was actually my friends content that he gave me and it got 0 views. Now any video I post, I get 0 views.

This baffles me because on my other business account I had for 1 year, all my videos get good views 10k+ and it’s so easy to make good content. I have no knowledge about starting fresh.

I read online that if your first 5 videos dont do well, your account is pretty much ruined in tiktoks eyes.

I just switched to a business acc and linked my insta to it today as well.

Does anyone have a fix or things to try to get my videos atleast getting a few views so I can slowly build my audience?

Is my account ruined? do i need to make another? (this will be hard because I already have the handle that I need for my business name).

Don’t think their algorithm is that terrible, some more content should do the trick and maybe some engagement from other accounts through collabs

If your content isn’t doing well it’s time to change the content

On a lot of platforms that sounds normal, well not exactly zero views but low views, unless you advertise in some way. Is Tik Tok not so normal and new accounts get a lot of views?

Here are some tips that will help you out I think!

    1) don’t delete low performing content. There are lots of reasons why but the most obvious is that in 2 weeks time that could be a video in a sound or theme that blows up. If ever you want something off Tik Tok set it to private do not delete it

    2) a big mistake lots of companies or businesses on Tik Tok make is not understanding the platform the best way I can describe it is : don’t make adverts make Tik Toks. The Tik Tok audience hates being sold to but it loves a brand that feels like it understands the platform so spend tim on Tik Tok save similar Tik Toks in your niche and really think that your content there will likely be very different to content on any other platform

    3) 0 views is a bad sign, log in to another account and just double check that your content is visible it’s possible that tik tok has automatically flagged the content if it isn’t

    4) don’t listen to everything you read online regarding the Tik Tok algorithm. It is the most amazing but fastest changing algorithm I have ever seen and I think you can’t really say anything about rules like if your first 5 don’t do well you will not see growth. It is just that your first videos are more likely to get larger exposure in some cases but not all. Tik tok is so specific and tailored you really just have to trial and error what will work for you the only thing it really universally values is consistency and trends.

    Good luck!

You should check other’s businesses on the app and copy their videos! There are a lot of trends for companies. Also I recommend doing videos where you show how the product is made.

The first 5 videos rumor is total BS. It’s all about frequency and consistency. (Source: started from zero, first few videos did meh, kept grinding, now at 170k follows)

2 things that worked for me –

    1. Find the ideal time for posting, based on when your audience is the most active. You can post multiple times a day to figure out what does well, until you have enough followers that your “Analytics” starts to make sense.
    2. Post frequently in the beginning. It will not only create some content on your account, (so that your viewers can become followers), but you also have a chance of hitting the jackpot and one of your videos going viral, this way you can get a kickstart to your page.

This strategy worked for me. Hope this helps.
