Is there more visibility with organic posts with a group vs just a page?

Would love to hear from actual working groups who market themselves heavily. Not just speculation, but actual results.

I know Facebook throttles organic reach pretty hard core these days (to get you to pay for ads). “Liking” a band’s page is not enough… Most of your “likes” are not going to see anything you post.

Just wondering what (if any) the advantages of having a group also might be.

    Thanks guys!

On the left-hand side of our page there was a link in the menu for “community.” It prompted me to start a group, so I did.

    So … What now?

Group is amazing to manage a community, and have content exclusive for members.

Eg, for a record label, the group can be a place for fans to hang out and talk about the label related content, their own production, etc. Stuff that would otherwise clog up the interaction on the official page.

You can then keep the page for major announcements, releases, a way to lure in new fans etc, might keep the reach/engagement cleaner and more effective too

Making a group is a wonderful way to grow your community. It’s a place where people who are united over your music can express themselves and share their thoughts on your music.

Something to decide on are the rules and guidelines you think should be followed. Is the group for music discussion only? Is it more organic in content? It’s important for both you and your community to know what the group is for.

You should also decide if you want the group to be public or private. If it’s public, anything posted within the group can be shared outside of it. Non group members can also see what is being posted in the group. Private means no one outside of group members can see what’s being posted in the group, but nothing can be shared from the group.

Also be aware that you should moderate your group as much as possible. There are a lot of people who join groups just to spam or post scams.

Do both see how each one performs in 6 months y’all know if you should keep it or not ! Had a few Facebook bloom and some just never even got any traction ! However I see the page being something to always fall back on since most people don’t mind liking a page ! I only truely stay in groups I see important !
