Monetizing a rat instagram account?

One big piece of advice: don’t listen to people saying “wait until you have more followers”.

I speak to people ranging 5k-10k and even 100k followers who

A) aren’t making ANY money
B) are only making money with sponsored posts and shoutouts

They’re not running a business.

You don’t need x amount of followers to monetize. If you can’t make money off of a 1000 followers account, what makes you think you’ll make money off of a 10k or 100k followers account?

Yes, the bigger you get.. the more opportunities will fall into your lap. But it just isn’t smart.

Find ways to monetize now. (See my other comment)

Then scale it as you grow.

I know lots of small makers create things for rats – sleep slings, play tubes, etc. Perhaps you can seek some out for mutually beneficial exposure.

There are some great rat rescues, with shoestring budgets. Perhaps you can shine some light on those, for wider exposure too.
