    Meta ads for renovation (help)

Posted by EnvironmentalFox5720 on February 8, 2026 at 6:45 am

    Hey everyone,

I run a renovation company in Dubai focused on villas and offices.

I started running Meta ads about 20 days ago. At first, I was getting messages, but most of them were contractors, laborers, or people looking for jobs(very frustrating). Only few real clients.
After a few days, Meta warned me that two ad sets were overlapping, so I removed one ad set, kept only one, added more ad creatives to it, and increased the budget from AED 100/day to AED 120/day.

I also changed targeting from all Dubai to only villa communities. After that, leads almost completely stopped. Some days I get zero messages.

    Current setup:
    One campaign
    One ad set
    Lead campaign
Around 5–6 ads in the ad set
    Budget: AED 120/day
    Targeting villa communities in Dubai
    Age range 30-55 both genders

Before, I was getting leads but low quality. Now I get almost none.

I also heard that Fridays might be bad days to launch or optimize ads. Is there any truth to that? Does day of the week actually affect performance or learning?

    Is this more likely:
    Campaign structure issue?
    Targeting too narrow?
    Budget too low?
    Learning phase resetm
    Or just normal Meta volatility?

Would you recommend fixing this on Meta or switching to Google Ads for a renovation business ?

Appreciate any real experience or advice.

You killed your delivery by narrowing targeting while Meta was still learning… going from broad Dubai to specific villa communities reset the learning phase and now you don’t have enough volume at AED 120 daily to exit it properly.

Renovation is high ticket with long consideration so lead campaigns struggle anyway… most people research multiple companies before contacting anyone. You probably want to run traffic campaigns to a landing page with strong social proof and let them convert when ready instead of forcing immediate lead capture.

Also yeah the job seeker problem is brutal in Dubai… seen this issue with construction and trade businesses there where 70% of leads are people asking for employment.

classic case of fixing one problem and creating another
going from all dubai to only villa communities probably shrunk your audience too much. meta needs volume to optimize – if your audience is tiny the algorithm cant find patterns and delivery dies
the contractor/laborer leads are frustrating but thats a creative and copy problem more than targeting. your ads are probably attracting people who work in renovation not people who need it. try messaging that clearly signals “homeowner looking to renovate” – show finished luxury results, mention investment ranges, use language that workers wouldnt respond to
    id suggest:
∙ widen targeting back up but keep the age range
∙ fix the creative to filter out job seekers
∙ add a qualifying question in your lead form like “what type of property do you own”
the friday thing is mostly myth.
learning phase reset from your changes is more likely the cause for google vs meta: google will get you higher intent leads but theyll cost more per lead. meta can work for renovation but you need scroll-stopping before/after content. id fix meta first before switching – you havent really given it a fair shot with proper creative yet whats your current ad creative showing?
