Manila PPC professionals: a few questions

Posted by potatodrinker on October 16, 2025 at 9:46 pm

Hi community, an Australian tech company will be looking for a senior PPC/Performance marketer for Manila via one of the outsourcing agencies. I'm in Sydney and curious to know what the Manila market is like.

Please don't DM about the role. It's not advertised yet and I'm not the hiring manager. Asking here coz curious- some of my colleagues are there but were hired as entry level so not quite been around long enough for the questions I have.

    • is there a shortage of PPC talent in the 5+ years range? Or plenty of talent and jobs to go around? I guess this would be from those who changed jobs recently – was it a hard process or companies moved fast to make offers with your experience?

    • is 1 day per week in office (Manila Central) common, or unusual?

    • right now it's Q4. Are going to hold out for end of year bonuses and other perks before moving or is this not really a thing for PPC agencies or inhouse teams?

Open to any other interestings things about the Manila PPC market.

    Thanks in advance!

You mean Manila, Philippines? If yes, then:

I think, yes, we do have a shortage of PPC talent, especially those with over 5 years of experience. PPC isn’t really popular here—it became known mainly in the VA/freelancing industry during the COVID pandemic, and it started with Amazon PPC. Now, if you’re working with outsourcing agencies, they can make the hiring process difficult since they’re sometimes stricter but lack in-depth industry knowledge. Also, *if* they take a cut from the applicant’s salary, that could drive potential employees away, as outsourcing agencies usually take a large portion of your pay and give only a small amount to the employee.

We typically have a hybrid setup here—for example, 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home. However, if your potential employee is used to working fully remote, that might discourage them from joining, since transportation here in the Philippines is quite bad.

That’s the norm here—if you’re a local company, most employees usually wait until the end of the year before resigning so they can receive the government-mandated “13th month pay” and any additional company bonuses, if available. If you have a registered business here in the Philippines, you’ll be required to provide the 13th month pay. But if you’re fully remote and not registered locally, it’s up to you whether to offer a bonus or not.

If you are trying to guage how fast your outsourcing company can hire a senior ppc talent (5 years experienced person) then the short answer is it will take time, specially now in q4.

It will prob be a bit faster when new year comes but senior ppc talent here are a bit rare already. Most are happy freelancing or are employed by other reputable companies locally or there in AU.

But in the off chance that your outsourcing company finds one looking for work, that person would probably be highly qualified as most senior ppc talent here probably came from a google vendor and has training from google.

If you want recommendations on which outsourcing company to use, dm me and i can prob provide suggestions
