    Lowering Spend In Smart Shopping Campaigns – Need Advice

    Hello folk! We’re seeing a surge in Smart Shopping spend across all of our Smart Shopping campaigns. They are solely responsible for our increase spend YoY and we’re currently pacing significantly over our budgeted spend for Google Ads because of this. They’re all performing well but we cannot sustain this level of cost. Any ideas on how to lower spend in them? We’ve made efforts to lower spend responsibly elsewhere but those cost savings aren’t even making a dent in what we need to cut out. Thank you!

    A few things I would keep in mind:

    * I would look if any SKUs are spending money and not converting (if not already done).
    * Continue lower spend where it is less profitable or does not make business sense
    * Have campagns focused on your top SKUS and cut anything else

    Try taking a look at the automatic placement report. If a ton of traffic and inefficient sales are coming from mobile apps, you can exclude those placements at the account level. The recommendations from the first comment are also solid. Good luck!
