  • Looking for a social media aggregator for personal use

I’m looking for a website or program that allows me to collect and organize the social accounts I follow across all platforms. Pretty simple what I’m after:

    • ability to group accounts I follow together by topic or category (musicians, visual artists, personal friends, etc) and view feeds of only that content, in chronological order.

    • ability to visually organize that content myself on a dashboard

Essentially what I’m asking for is an RSS reader but for social media accounts.

Just to be 100% clear, I’m not looking for a tool to manage my own accounts. I’m looking for a solution to make it easier to *only* see the content I want to see. I currently do a version of this on instagram, with different finstas dedicated to following certain types of accounts.

And before someone asks “why?” – a lot of the information I want is on social media, but I have no interest in “scrolling” or “browsing” social media aimlessly. I think it has a really negative effect on my psyche and takes an unnecessary amount of time. It’s obvious that IG and the other companies want to discourage this type of customization because they want you to scroll and view advertising; the fact that IG doesn’t allow you to group accounts together is pretty much proof of this. So I want to find a solution to get around this and see the content I want on my own terms.

Anyways 🙂 Seems like an obvious thing that should exist somewhere already. If not, doesn’t seem like it’d be all that complicated to build for personal use. Suggestions? Thanks!

I actually think this is a fantastic idea. I’m not sure of an easy way to do this or of an app that is already doing this but there is definitely an opportunity to disrupt how we view social media and organize it. I can think of a few workarounds with automation but of course, there would be a lot of trial and error beforehand. Maybe try turning your idea into something…

Facebook would not like such a tool and I doubt if such a thing is already built.

Impossible with current API standards. It flies against the business model of social media sites currently.

An advanced scraper on the other hand… that seems possible.
