Location settings in new Pmax campaigns

Posted by Jamie_Ads on September 5, 2025 at 9:15 am

Has anyone else noticed that you can’t change location settings during the build process for new PMax campaigns anymore?

You have to launch first, then go back into settings to adjust.
Worth checking your campaigns if you haven’t looked in a while.

Always worth double checking your settings for any newly launched campaign.

It might be related to the new “EU political advertising” settings. For any campaign the last few days you cannot add/change locations until you tell google that you are not doing “EU political advertising

From the newest version of google ads editor, download any campaign in the account. In the left hand pane choose “account”. In the furthest right hand pane choose “No, doesn’t have EU political ads”. Post the changes.

Now you can change/add locations for every new and existing campaign in the account

Yep, that’s a recent change. Google now hides location settings during the PMax campaign build, so you have to publish first, then go back in to switch from “Presence or interest” to “Presence” (or adjust targeting).
