LinkedIn Ad Budget. Not Enough for Leads?

Posted by seohelper on May 12, 2020 at 7:00 pm

My agency typically allots $500/mo per client on LinkedIn lead gen ad campaigns for the B2B IT space. I’m seeing the cost of leads rise over the last year from ~$100 CPL to ~$200 CPL in some cases.

Have you guys noticed this as well? Is $500/mo even worth it to run lead gen ads at this point? Or does it make more sense to put that money to driving traffic to a LP with the “website visits” objective?

Any anecdotes you guys have with LinkedIn lead gen ads would be appreciated!

In my experience, LinkedIn will not perform at these spend levels. I’d be very surprised if you’ve turned up any leads at these spend levels in the past!

Agreed. It can work great at high spend levels for leads that generate alot of money, but for smaller stuff, definitely not worth it

LinkedIn ads are very low performing, and at that budget level you are limited.

But have you considered other lead gen options on LinkedIn? e.g. InMail – $10/100 credits so you could get 5,000 per month. That’s pretty substantial for B2B, but ROI will come down to your open and CTR rates.

My question would be why does your agency appreciate LinkedIn with a predetermined budget for all clients? Maybe greater flexibility would bring greater results?

Spending $20k to $50k on LinkedIn depending on the client, using LinkedIn forms.
