    Hey guys,

Just wanted to share that getting my first actual client has been the hardest to happen but the easiest to keep. And just wanted to thank you all, for the information I’ve learned here from you guys. If you have any guidance on how to get more clients, that’ll be highly appreciated.

What is your monthly schedule for each of your clients? Do you set everything to auto-post and then focus on the next week or month in the process? How are you dealing with weekly issues? Theses are all questions I’m curious about with your own processes and wanted to reach out? Do you cold-call small business to see if they need any social media work done?

If you schedule posts, remember what you scheduled and keep an eye on what’s happening in the world in case you need to kill a post (or reschedule one) here or there. Nothing worse than a post going up during a mass shooting, etc.

Read everything that comes in. Comments, DMs, and track which assets are working and which are not. Use that info to shape your discussions with the client about strategies moving forward.

Build an engagement plan. Use social socially if the client is OK with it. If the accounts aren’t responsive, you’re all wasting each other’s time and will just produce quick little wins. Build accounts to last that have more value than generating one-way noise.

You should work on learning Media Buys on Google and Facebook/IG… not only will this be how you get new customers, but you can use this skill for your future clients.

That’s awesome! Congrats! What services are you providing for them?

    Congrats!

    1) Do you set up everything to auto-post

I personally manually post everything. Mainly because I just prefer it but also because I’m paranoid about the security of using any service to do it. I don’t trust any service to be immune to hacks and I don’t trust Instagram, I’m afraid they’ll suddenly not support these services and ban accounts that use them. Am I the only one like this?

    2) How are you dealing with weekly issues

I think the relevance depends on what type account one has. What is your client’s category?

    3) Cold-calling

I suggest something more elaborate to set you apart from other agencies and social media professionals.

Don’t cold-call offering your services. Cold-call with a week’s worth of posts and stories already done for them. They’ll see you mean business. If they want to use them, they’ll hire you.

If not, don’t worry. Find another 20 clients in the same category and just retool the “proposal package” for each one. Play the numbers game.

Yes, it is better to auto-schedule the tasks for the week. If its a small business then cold call is fine but ensure that you keep the tasks on mail.

    Congrats!!

Asking your existing clients for a referral to others who they think may benefit from your service is a great way for new prospects.

Myself and several other business owners have a pretty tight circle in regards to referrals. Need insurance (liability/health/business)? Jon’s your guy. Need a multi-market eCommerce publishing/inventory management platform? We do that. Need an acquisitions attorney? Call Adil. And in the same fashion, we get referrals from these guys right back at us. It’s a win, win, win.
