Just curious. Do any Google Ads marketers (or any other platform) interact with ads on their own personal searches?

I was speaking to a peer and they confirmed that they rarely ever interact with ads on their own personal time. I don’t either as I know that showing up on the top of ads results doesn’t necessarily make you the best option for that product/service. But I’m wondering if other marketers are out there that have similar thoughts. Please bear in mind this does not mean clicking on ads for market research.

I would love to get some insight into what my fellow marketers think.

My choice: I don’t click on ads because I understand they may not be the best option & I also detest the big players like Google and Facebook getting richer (yes I know, even though I depend on them for a living).

I’ll usually click if I know I’m going to make a conversion. I like to think I’m helping someone out in their monthly reports.

    I often click on ads.

Unlike one of your choices, I believe if someone is paying good money to see their product, it’s highly likely exactly what I want.

    Saves time.

That being said, I’ll usually exit away from the LP and go to the home page to give them a good once over.

I usually do not click on ads. However sometimes if I’m feeling malicious I will click on an ad and say to myself “Ha! I just cost them 30 cents”

I don’t click on ads, because I don’t want to.

If it is a brand ad for a company that I was already searching for, then I don’t click the ad. The organic search result is usually right there and I don’t want them to pay for my click to a paid ad.

If I’m more generally searching for a type of product or service and am not settled on a brand, I’m open to clicking on an ad if I find it compelling enough to see what the company offers.

    Edit to slightly reword

I’ll usually scan the organic listings before clicking an ad. If an ad is relevant and compelling I’ll click it, they earned it.
