  Issues with linking Insta account to FB Ad Manager

  I have a client that wants to create an instagram campaign but not advertise on any Facebook placements. My understanding is that should not be a problem since we can gain access to their instagram through our business account and then use our ad manager to create a new campaign. Here’s where I’m running into a problem.

  The client has a Facebook page that is unpublished (they don’t want to publish for a specific reason), their instagram account is linked to this unpublished Facebook page. Our business has access to this page but the instagram is not showing up in our business assets. When I try to add the instagram directly, I get an error saying that I must be an admin on the Facebook page. I’m already admin on the page both through our business account and personal account. Really stumped on how to move forward. Has anyone run into this issue or know a work around?

  My next move would be to remove the instagram account from the unpublished Facebook page and then add it directly as a business asset.
