Is tiktok allowed to do this?
Posted by on April 23, 2021 at 7:04 pmI’ve noticed on my FYP videos that are awfully.. familiar. Familiar in the sense that they have like, for instance, a song i listened to that only has 59k listeners on soundcloud. I’ve had trouble with viruses latelt,and now my FYP just showed a vid with an antivirus meme. Is tiktok tracking my internet footprint?

There’s always hidden jargon in the apps notes on the App Store that basically say when you download the app you are consenting to cookies, which is a big way ad agencies can target you. Not necessarily tracking you and not using your camera or microphone without your knowledge, just using the data that’s already on your phone to target ads to you they think you’ll be most likely to interact with.
Nothing to be scared about, technology and advertisements aren’t always a scary thing.
