    The same page is ranking at two consecutive different positions with the same search query…
    How is this possible and if it is what we call it in SEO terms…

    Search query: why bitcoin purchasing is expensive in India
    There is this website with economic times is ranking at 5 and 6 with the same page

    It looks like the article has both the main site economictimes.indiatimes.com and mobile sub-domain m.economictimes.com which are indexed and linked to amp version, the source of which is m.economictimes.com.

    There is also a redirect set up between m.economictimes.com and the desktop site based on browser. So if you are browsing on a larger screen/ window you will probably never see the m.economictimes.com.

    This is a common issue, probably came about as new technologies were added to existing platform, starting with mobile sites, and then the AMP pages, etc.

    Currently the pages offer each other as alternates and declare self canonicals, since there are two canonicals on two different domains, google shows both domains as separate results.

    This maybe fixed by changing canonicals or changing up the redirect behavior.
