Is there any way to get a backlink from a pdf?
Posted by on October 24, 2025 at 6:34 amI have 2 pages that are pdfs they have a lot of backlinks going to them. I was have thinking of rerouting them to the same content but on the webpage. But if I can get the same url structure and place a backlink in it, then I would like to. Any ideas?

You can definitely add links in PDFs – but I have no idea how Google views them. (Maybe someone else can chime in there) But it might be good to do regardless if they are getting viewed, maybe downloaded, often

Can’t you just edit the pdf and add your links then replace the file with the same name?

Yes you can and yes, Google sees them and values them.
