Is there a way to tell if a website is running Google Ads?

Posted by seohelper on February 15, 2021 at 3:26 am

I do PPC for a medium-sized web development company and I was wondering if there was any way to tell if certain websites are running Google Ads campaigns. Beyond googling their site or related terms, I’m in the dark on this one. Any thoughts?

    Ahrefs will tell you.

You could check if the site has conversion tracking installed.

    This is not bulletproof though:

    * Some people run ads without tracking conversions 🙁
    * Some track conversions through Google Analytics

Look into WASP (free chrome extension) which will not only tell you what tracking the site uses, but also any and all services plugged into the website if it is code insert based. This helps you understand their marketing stack which includes tracking pixels from ad platforms.

Use a third party comp software like SEMrush. If they run any ads it should come up inside the paid reports when u search up the domain. Another way is to use Google Tag Assistant to find if they have any Google ads conversion code installed
