Is Targeting Expansion a good recommendation for a community college account?
Posted by on August 11, 2021 at 3:04 pmWhile we have a detailed audience in place, we are toying with the idea of applying this recommendation across custom intent & remarketing to drive more impressions and hopefully reach out to a new audience looking to apply for a school in this peak time.

Wait for optimized targeting, which is the new and improved version of targeting expansion that includes machine learning in why they would serve an ad to someone outside of your audience. “Targeting expansion” is just making the audience larger for the sake of it. It usually takes over spend with minimal results unless you’re on target cpa with a lot of conversion history.
You should also not use it with Remarketing unless you’re willing to pay for prospecting, as the expansion would mean it’s reaching people outside your Remarketing list.
