  • Is it too late to build a larger following on TikTok?

I'm based in the U.S. and I'd like to make movie review/comentary based TikTok page, and I feel like in 2021 to early 2023 it was posible to do something like create a TikTok page and dedicate to just about movies and gain like 40k followers in 2 years. Is that still possible? I know some might say niche down, but I like talking about all things movies, I genuinely love all genres form musicals, to animation, PG to R rated, horror, fantasy, scifi, oscar dramas foreign films, marvel films, obscure indie films, old films, I love it all. So I wouldn't want to box myself in in terms of what I can talk about.

It’s definitely not too late, but it’s not as easy as it was in 2021 either. TikTok is more competitive now, so growth depends a lot on consistency, personality, and how engaging your takes are. The good thing is movie content still performs well because people love strong opinions and quick recommendations. You don’t have to box yourself into one tiny niche; just make sure your page has a clear vibe so people know what to expect. If your passion shows and you stay consistent, 40k in a couple of years is still very possible.

The golden days are gone but you still can. You’d need to be mega viral though.

It’s not too late. It’s just not easy mode anymore🙅🏻‍♂️
In 2021 you could grow just by showing up.Now you grow by having a clear angle.

The good news? Movie content will never die. There are new releases every week, old classics trending again, Oscars drama, streaming drops, etc. The niche isn’t saturated it’s just noisy.

The only thing I’d challenge you on is this
You don’t have to box yourself into one genre…
But you do need a consistent lens.

For example at least you need to be proactive !!!example :::!
Honest 60 second reviews for busy people,
    Underrated movies you missed,
Explaining why a movie actually worked (or didn’t),
Breaking down one scene at a time

You can talk about all genres just from the same perspective so people know what they’re following you for.

40k in 2 years is realistic only ifff You post consistently 3-5x per week minimum,You jump on new releases early,You develop a recognizable style,You improve your hooks constantly

The platform rewards clarity ndd consistency now, not just presence.

It’s not too late. It just requires intention now.
