I’m working on a micro niche website, so can i take the information from other websites under the same niche and write it in my own words and post it in my websites ? Is it Legal ?
( Almost all the websites in the niche are saying the same thing in their posts )

Let’s talk about legality later. Do you want to be on top in this niche?
If yes then why do the same thing. Put some effort dude and be ahead of them. It’s always good to produce unique content if you want to excell in your niche.

Now, about legality. No one will claim or harm you if you modify their content and produce on your own site. But, Google knows how to filter the canonical or duplicate content, even if you are writing it with different word synonyms.

So, if you really want to reach the top, I would suggest you to put some effort, rather than reusing someone else’s content.

It’s legal. Just mix and match and use your own words, don’t copy paste word for word. Everyone gets inspiration from somewhere, and if you are not great at writing it’s better you do this than have uninteresting content.

Well. News site for example. The essence of the news is basically the same. Short simple info.

But the way to convey the message, each individual is different.

There’s a thin line between copying and using sources. But there is a line.

I often use other websites as sources – usually linking them as that.

But the entire concept and structure of my articles is made by me. Not just the words, nor just paraphrasing the sentences – but the way, and the order of how things are put and explained.

Also – I usually write articles either to be more complete than in any one source, or several articles that are briefer, each, than any source articles. Doing it how I would like to have it written and read if I didn’t know what I know (not sure I’ve explained this right). And not doing this to avoid it looking similarly – doing it because I think it’s better explained that way.

In other words: if I don’t feel the need to write it differently (better?), then there’s no reason to write – it already exists, I can just link to the original article(s).

Legal? Yes. Black hat? Yes. Should you do it? I guess it depends on how lazy you are.

You won’t get in trouble with the competition for copying stuff but everyone is right. There are better ways to rank.

Read their content and aim to create higher quality content.

Is your site is services based? Daily news site? Sharing blogs related science n technology? Share your domain so that 1 can guide you better.

It will good for your domain if you share informative & unique content. But for news, science n tech n some other niche you are going to share already written material so you need to be smart n need to give credit.

If you have a niche which is fairly technical , I would say you can get the whole thing rewritten by a expert from that field . Also Google does not understand shit , I have seen product pages written pathetically and lot of keyword stuffing , rank higher than mine .

My personal recommendation , make your site functional and clean looking . A user must be willing to stay on it . This way dwell time increases , which is a ranking factor . If you like your website and find it worth reading then users will too .

Why not write up an article telling readers where they can find answers? Instead of stealing someone else’s work, create backlinks to it.

İf you use your own sentences , it is okay. You can think you learnt something and you are teaching it now.

Yes. You can do it. But there is something very important. If you are rewriting a post then actually what is the need of that post? People were already happy with the present post. So try to improve the post that you are following. May be you can add some info-graphics. Some video etc. All I want to say that you should make some value addition. Try to help the reader.

Legal, but unethical. If you have too many similarities they may be able to come after you for plagiarism. Also, scraping another site won’t likely help your SEO.

It sounds like you’re spinning the article but a human doing it instead of a machine. Either way Google doesn’t like it and I wouldn’t like it as the original author.

What I did is, instead of looking for keywords, I would copy the title of an article in my niche from [livestrong.com](https://livestrong.com) and write my own content (titles aren’t subject to copyright). Also I would grab a question from [answerthepublic.com](https://answethepublic.com) and write an article answering that question. I have over 200 pages and most of it is on the first page of Google. What I’m trying to say is there are many ways of getting inspiration for content but copying is not the way to go.

Google ranks unique content. Even if you copy the same and make some changes the algorithms will still detect the content and flag your content.

Legality issues? I don’t think you’ll get sued. If they know they are ranking above you its already a win for him, he has nothing to lose because google knows who the OC is.

What is the point of copying and modifying when you already know you wont get ranked?

Just put some effort, write your own content and publish it.

It’s legal to simply change the wording around and hit publish I guess, but I wouldn’t.

Better instead to read these other articles, fact check them to the best of your ability, form your own opinions, and write an original article using the others as a source and even quoting them or citing them as a source if you wish.

Some things are naturally going to be repeated and parts may sound similar to the other articles but that’s natural. Be as original as possible.

This takes a lot more time and it’s why many people fail, they don’t want to put in the effort.
