Posted by seohelper on January 13, 2021 at 2:40 pm

Hey, is it allowed to advertise CBD oil on Google Ads? If yes, how can I do that & what should I pay attention to do it correctly?

I’m almost certain it’s a no-no. But google will tell you as soon as you upload creatives.

If it’s not, it’s simply ridiculous.

I’m pretty sure it’s against their advertising guidelines. Then again, with some creative wordplay, you can get around it. It’s just a lot of trial and error. I’m not sure if it’ll work for CBD oil though. I used to work for a crypto company…with a lot of trial and error, adjusted messaging and a ton of time invested in trying to get it going, we managed to advertise on Google Ads.

I worked in the GDN department. We wouldnt punish ads or sites mentioning CBD. But those KWs would get punished before 2018 I believe. It should be OK now.

I wouldn’t go google ads unless you got a lot of time and money to test out. Theres a few cannabis friendly platforms to advertise on but they are also expensive. Mantis is one of them. I’ve also seen a lot of cannabis related ads on snapchat targeted to myself. So that might be something you can take a look at

I ran CBD water search ads for about 16 months 2018 – 2019 in every state. Later I learned in a few states it is illegal but no one said anything.

It’s against ad guidelines. I have run into this issue even from the affiliate coupon space where CBD ads were disapproved. It’s a hassle and not worth your time.

Definitely check out StackAdapt if you’re having issues on Google Ads. They have some good CBD inventory and targeting options.

There’s ways around it but I doubt you’ll find anyone willing to get into the specific details. You never know who’s lurking around these subs

You can’t do Google unless it’s hemp only not cbd.

You CAN do Snapchat but they have crazy compliance requirements.

You CAN use programmatic/rtb at scale but this is highly dependent on your existing traffic/revenue because it’s based on how much retargeting.

We have an agency we use for our paid ads that has been producing lots of cbd content. They seem to have a pretty good formula for success and they’ve got a few of the top 20 accounts.
