is it a good idea to publish a bunch of articles an THEN go back and add images and links and stuff?
Posted by seohelper on February 24, 2021 at 9:55 pmi think that because posts usually take a lot of time to start ranking, why don’t i (as i’m starting a new blog) just publish let’s say 30 articles in a short period of time, and then go back and “optimize” those articles as a write new ones?
did anyone did that?, what do you think about it?

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 10:14 pmIt’s unnatural behaviour. Any efforts you make should be as natural as possible – I’ve no idea why you’d want to do this..

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 10:21 pmI do this, but I never really took SEO into consideration.
I mostly do it as a form of batching. It’s just easier for me to think in this context. I vomit content and figure out what to do with it later.
I also get a little bit of feedback from page hits as to what content is resonating with people more and prioritize updating those posts with images and better textual dynamics etc.
I also do this, because if I worried about it too much ahead of time, I’d never get the post up in the first place.
How this affects my SEO, I couldn’t say, but my website does rank for my niche so it doesn’t appear to be hurting it.

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 10:34 pmyou could just save the posts as drafts and then edit them before finally posting them instead.

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 10:48 pmHow later? Because if you get well ranked due to new content and you have high bounce, is counterproductive.

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 10:53 pmDo you want to say you’re writing an article so fast so you can’t spend 5 minutes on Canva to create a featured image or at least take 2 minutes to get it from free to download websites?-
Why would you do that? Sounds like nonsense.
Publish your content when it is ready…

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 10:57 pmI do it all the time in my local lead gen business. This year so far I’ve built 25 website, by first building the home page, then connecting the domain so that the Google clock starts ticking and it starts getting crawled and indexed etc.
I then build the next and the next, so that I have 25 sites with just a homepage and a contact page…then once I’m done, I’ll work through them again in the same order adding inner page 1 to all sites, then inner page 2, then inner page 3 etc.
This way the ageing process has started on your sites. As we all know, the one thing you can’t fake is age, and age plays a big ranking factor in Google…so get those sites up there and get the age clock ticking…

GuestFebruary 24, 2021 at 11:05 pmDepends, are you going to be posting them on social media? or purely posting them in the hope Google picks them up?
If social media is involved, then I wouldn’t because it will affect how people interact with your content.
There’s nothing stopping you from doing this, from an SEO perspective. Pages get updated all the time with new images etc which Google doesn’t penalise for.

GuestFebruary 25, 2021 at 12:10 amBetter to publish a good, optimised page instead of many unfinished pages. Your visitors will also be thankful for it.

GuestFebruary 25, 2021 at 2:04 amImages are important, not just because of the visual impact, but as another opportunity to optimize your SEO.
Now, you can always come back and update your content and add all the images you want. So I wouldn’t worry too much about it. -

GuestFebruary 25, 2021 at 10:57 amYes, optimizing can only be a good idea. Always. The only concern is about taking benefit of optimization, if done in the wrong time. I often read articles that have been written years ago. It mainly depends on content then. Ranking might be either a short or long term goal. If you write for Wikipedia, it’s never ending.
