Is google ads always more expensive than facebook?
Posted by on April 6, 2021 at 10:41 pmAs long as you are using both platforms correctly and to the best degree you can, is google always more expensive, and is it possible to get sales for less than, say $20?
I always see people talking about having 5-10 ROAS but is that due to them having a high cost product or getting conversions for really cheap?I am in the bath & beauty space
my idea of conversions in this case is first time purchases. -

Yes, Google CPA is always more than Facebook. Google can be 400 a click for certain competitive keywords. Average is around 100 for competitive keywords (non self-branded).

From my own experience in using both, yes – Google ads is more expensive.

Depends how you measure it, but in general search traffic is more expensive than other channels on a CPC basis.
The upside though is that (in general) the ad networks are pretty efficient markets and generally the costs correspond with the value of traffic. There is a reason “personal injury lawyer my city” costs more than “landscaping company my city”.
In the same way, SEM traffic is in buying mode and is likely going to convert at a higher rate than a Cold FB audience.

Expensive in what regard? Impressions and clicks are generally more expensive but that’s because users are often much higher intent than social traffic.
This mostly applies to search and shopping.

From my experience google has been more expensive. But you need really good creatives to bring down cost on FB since it’s auction based.

In your industry, and at your price point, I’d expect FB to outperform Google Ads in terms of ROAS for a given ad spend. Google can easily outperform FB in other industries, particularly higher-cost items and items that are more niche.
